Katsushika Fireworks

Shibamata is an area in Katsushika state, Tokyo, which is well known as the place where “Tora-san” was born in and was grown up, he’s one of the most famous and the traditional characters in the sort of stories that refer to “Tokyo Shitamachi” feelings. The TV show “Otoko-ha-Tsuraiyo” has a guinness records as the longest series of movies in the World. In such really a Japanese traditional area, you will see 13 thousands shots of the fireworks, it’ll be on the middle of EDO river. If you want to enjoy the Japanese traditional fireworks, this is the best choice for you.

Shibamata in Katsushika is known for the hometown of the fictional character “Tora-san” in the once longest movie series in the world “Otoko wa Tsurai yo (男はつらいよ, "It's tough being a man"). The movie had spanned 48 installment from 1969 to 1995, and had to stop because the leading star passed away. The movie presents the scene of Shitamachi in Tokyo- the lowland where common people, artisans and merchants used to live in Edo Period and still remains the kind of the atmosphere and the scene nowadays. The settings, architectural models and data of the movie are now preserved in the museum dedicated to “Tora-san”, the name of the leading character in the movie.

Period: Before 2015/07/19 or up to 20 participants

Price: $5 USD per person with no additional charges. Children under 6 are free. Please transfer the fee after you receive the email of booking details.

The fee includes:
1. A nice place kept for you by our staffs early in the morning in the super crowded firework place.
2. Itinerary provided on TripHugger App. Suggestion and answers to all your questions.

The fee does not include:
1. Transportation

2. Fill in the form, and we will send you the email about booking details within 24 hrs.
3. After receiving the email, please trasnfer the fee according to the instruction in the email, and reply back to us when the payment is done.
4. We will confirm that you have completed the booking and you will get the invitation letter on the TripHugger iOS app to invite you to join the itinerary discussion. You can also discuss with us in the app if you have any question.


1. If you cannot join after finishing the booking, please send us an email to cancel it. We will confirm within 24 hours.
   a. If you cancel before July 17th, we will refund USD $3, after deducting the transaction fee.
   b. If you cancel it after 7/17, we will not be able to refund any.

3. Please come to meet us at the designated place on time otherwise you might not be able to get in because of the crowds, and we will not be able to refund in this situation.
